All You Need To Know About Instagram's Latest Monetization Features

Updated: Jul 1, 2021

Instagram is rolling out new monetization features to help content creators make money on the platform. Creator Shops, affiliate commerce and a branded content marketplace. In an effort to support creators making money directly from the app, these features have been rolled out to select accounts and will be generally available soon.

Here's what you need to know about the new features:

Creator Shops

For creators who want to sell their own products or merchandise. They will be able to set up a shop, linked to their personal as well as business profiles, through one of Instagram’s merchandise partners: Bravado/UMG, Fanjoy, Represent, and Spring. People will be able to buy directly from the creator.

Affiliate Commerce

The affiliate commerce program is where creators will earn a commission payment (set by brands) for sales they generate through Instagram for these brands. It will also feature a label informing users that their purchase will directly support the creator, who through this program will discover new products on Checkout and will be able to share them with their followers to receive a commission for the purchase they drive.

Branded Content Marketplace

The branded content marketplace will help brands match and discover emerging influencers whose reach would be an ideal fit for their audience. It will create an influencer-brand collaboration matchmaking space.

So if you're a creator with a solid Instagram presence, check out the new monetization features and make money while doing something you love!
